Casein Protein – Types of Casein That Are Good For You

by John

types of casein protein

There are several types of casein protein on the market today. Casein powders have been in use for a few decades and continue to gain popularity. There are also supplements available that use this type of protein in addition to whey protein. Casein powder can be purchased online and in health food stores. Protein shakes are also a popular choice. Each type of casein protein has its own benefits and uses.

Casein protein, as the name implies, is produced from cow’s milk. The milk is the only milk product that is processed as a nutritional supplement. The other types of casein powders are made from other sources, such as chicken, fish, eggs, soybeans, buckwheat and rice. The milk protein extract is then cleaned to remove excess lactose and fats, giving much higher than 90% protein and almost no lactose and fats.

Casein protein shakes are among the most popular types of supplements used by bodybuilders. This type of liquid is perfect for quick and easy meal replacement as it is rich in both protein and calcium. A positive nitrogen balance is another benefit of this protein supplement. This means that your body will be producing more muscular cells, increasing the amount of lean muscle mass, and improving bone mineral density.

An example of a good quality Casein protein powder is one that contain hydrolyzed casein protein, as well as enough protein for a standard day’s consumption. Some companies add extra ingredients, such as wheat grass, for flavoring or taste. However, this shouldn’t be done, as extra ingredients tend to introduce additional bacteria into the powder, which makes it less effective and can also slow down the process of fast-digesting protein. Make sure to buy a product with enough protein, but not too much. A good quality protein supplement will have between ten and twenty grams per serving.

For someone who is trying to lose weight, they should look for a whey protein isolate as this has the benefits of casein without the fat and lactose. Essential amino acids are great when you are trying to speed up muscle protein synthesis. Essential amino acids include arginine, cysteine, histidine, lysine, and phenhylalanine. Although you may notice that some companies advertise that their products contain these essential amino acids, make sure to check the label and know exactly what an ingredient does for your body. Many whey protein isolates are also made with hydrolyzed casein protein.

There are two types of calcium caseinate, low and high grade. The low grade is usually made from cow milk that has been pasteurized. The high grade protein is usually made from chicken eggs or soy beans. The best choice will depend on personal preference, diet, price, etc. Although milk is the highest quality protein available, most people do not drink the minimum recommended daily amount of milk.
