Pronounce Casein Vs Whey Protein

by John

If you have been around the fitness scene for any amount of time, you have probably heard of the new protein powder called Casein. What is casein? It is a protein powder derived from cow’s milk that when digested promotes faster digestion and absorption of nutrients, making it ideal for people trying to lose weight fast.

pronounce casein

Casein powder is made by the process of separating the whey protein from casein (casein is the pure, unmixed protein). The best part of this process is that the resulting powder is remarkably similar in consistency to the texture of milk. In addition to its unique, milk like texture, studies have shown that it increases post-workout muscle gain as well as helping to preserve muscle mass. That means you get the best of both worlds with casein protein powder.

There are two primary proteins found in casein powder that makes it so successful. One is the protein bridging the gap between the casein and whey proteins which provides your body with the complete amino acids needed for a complete workout. The second is a combination of amino acids that cutting through the mess that most protein powders make. These amino acids are called cysteine, glycine, taurine, arginine, glutamine, and adenosine.

Cysteine is the lone amino acid that actually aids in the break down of proteins. When your body needs energy, it breaks down the protein found in casein and moves it into energy. This is why most athletes use whey protein supplements as their major supplement. Whey protein takes the casein amino acids and splits them down into their simple contents. It is best for use before or after your workout. For example, if you workout hard and need a quick boost, consuming a glass of whey protein mixed with orange juice or milk is ideal.

Casein powder is the only protein product that goes through a more complex process than just grinding up the casein and mixing them together. The natural casein powder is blended with enzymes and then dehydrated. Enzymes are what make the product digestible. Dehydration breaks down the proteins, allowing them to be easily digested by the body. Your workout will be much easier if you take the time to consider which one is best for you.

The decision to use whey protein or casein is completely up to you. Just keep in mind that there are benefits to both. If you are an athlete or someone who is looking to get the most out of their workout, you should consider using both. You will have a higher rate of success when you do.
