Does Creatine Show Up on a Drug Test?

by John

does creatine show up on a drug test

The short answer to the question does creatine show up on a drug test is: yes. However, there are a couple of things to take into consideration before jumping to that conclusion. For instance, there are three prohormones found in the human body that are related to muscle building, namely testosterone, hydroxy and ethyl-estradiol (EA), which are often referred to as steroids. While there are no known side effects from consuming them, there are other substances that do not have these same effects.

So does creatine show up on a drug test? The short answer to that is, it may not, depending on the type of test. For example, a saliva drug test will not necessarily show levels of creatine. This is because the saliva contains not only water but also sugar, which can negate whatever compound were being tested for. A blood test, however, can.

Another way to determine does creatine show up on a drug test is to look at what kind of supplement is being tested. Creatine is a supplement designed for bodybuilders, who want to increase their muscle mass. For this reason, it would not be a wise choice to take creatine with illegal steroids. This is because taking them simultaneously can lead to severe and irreversible liver damage. It is perfectly acceptable, though, to take them in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise program.

Still, creatine does have some legitimate uses. For instance, it is commonly taken as a sports nutritional supplement. This means that it shows promise as a weight loss aid, as it has been shown to help improve muscle mass and reduce fat. It also may help improve endurance, which may be useful for athletes training for a marathon, triathlon or other athletic event.

So, does creatine show up on a drug test? Unfortunately, the answer is no. However, if you are taking any kind of supplements for an extended period of time, you may want to talk to your doctor about supplementation. Your doctor can run a series of tests to make sure that you are getting the proper amount of nutrition, especially if you are not eating a balanced diet and exercising regularly.

Hopefully, we have explained why, if creatine does show up on a drug test, it probably has very little effect on your ability to do your job. Creatine is a helpful supplement that most people will find beneficial for one or two reasons. Before starting a creatine supplement regimen, talk with your doctor to determine if this is the right choice for you.
