How Is Testosterone Supplements Used For Aging Males?

by John

testosterone supplementation for aging males

Testosterone supplementation for aging males has recently become a topic of increasing interest. As more aging men find themselves at a crossroads between youth and health, they begin to consider what it might mean to extend their lives. While some of them are concerned about the side effects of testosterone replacement, most want to know if it will help them beat the disease. And the answer may be yes. Here’s how testosterone supplementation for aging males works.

Testosterone replacement for aging males is based on the observation that in and has a negative impact on the development and performance of young people. Testosterone itself, a male hormone, has an effect on the brain and spinal cord. Looks at cardiovascular and cognitive function. In older mice, plaque actually accelerated the degeneration process associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

There is some evidence that younger people have better bone health, but this may be because of more calcium in their diets. In the elderly men, testosterone levels dropped along with calcium. The link with testosterone and BMD was established in younger rats, when they were fed a diet low in testosterone and high in calcium.

When we think about the testosterone/calcium link, we might want to look first at osteoporosis. Women, after menopause, have about half the rate of osteoporosis. For the elderly men, the incidence of osteoporosis is particularly high. It is possible that testosterone reduces the risk of hip fractures.

Testosterone and BMD seem to be linked not just to the total bone mineral density, but to the intensity of the bone pain experienced by an individual. Men with higher levels of testosterone suffer from less severe joint pain than do those with lower testosterone levels. This is the first link between testosterone and osteoporosis, and the future studies are beginning to show how this hormone may affect the development of osteoporosis.

Another area where testosterone has been shown to have some beneficial effect in the skeletal system of aging males is in the realm of muscle growth. Testosterone is known to have anabolic effects on muscle tissue. It is not known whether this muscle growth is due to the b-md4 hormone or to some other compound. However, if testosterone is indeed a contributing factor to b md4 then it would be of some help to take a low-dose testosterone undecanoate regularly. Tuoma and Saadali tablets are some of the testosterone supplements on the market that are supposed to be able to help with this problem.
